SCHOOL DAY ENDS
Post- activity: Teachers at Colbinabbin might like to adopt their follow up lessons/ activities based on some of the following ideas:
- Activities involving plant maintenance: pruning and watering fruit trees.
- Healthy food recipes: students gather/create their own healthy food recipes which they can cook at school and share with peers in their class.
Group Activity Roles:
The following group members will be assigned to specific activities:
Cooking: Courtney, Annalie & Kara.
Games: Troy, Brent & Josh.
Planting:Tim, Carla & Jacki.
Korf ball: - Korf ball is a game with similar elements to netball but played in a different way.
- The game is played on a netball court and there are 2 teams. Each team has the same amount of players and they are divided into 2 halves of the court. (Half up each end).
- Players are paired up with a boy on a boy and girl on a girl. That is their opponent who they attack or defend on. It is a one on one type of game.
- The goals are normally placed at the top of the goal ring however we can just use the netball goals/ basketball or whatever the school has.
- The idea of the game is for players to work the ball around quickly in order to score goals, players cannot shoot if their partner is defending in front of them, 3ft with arms up. They can shoot however is the player is defending from the side, standing in front with no arms up or arms up but greater then 3ft away.
- Any attacking player can shoot goals, so they can all go in the ring.
- After every 2 goals, the attacking end and defeding end swap so attackers become defenders and vice versa.
- We can include contact and obstruction rules although it is slightly more contact then netball.
- After a goal is scored the opposite teams brings it in from the defence line. Ball ups or Jump balls occur only when ends have changed. ie. after every 2 goals..
